FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: system for controlled thermal processing of sebaceous gland contains target chromophore submersed in surrounding medium. The system contains: a cooling device made with the possibility of cooling the surface of surrounding medium; a light source made with the possibility of transmitting light to surrounding medium, a target and target chromophore; a processor communicating with the cooling device and the light source and made with the possibility of controlling the cooling device and the light source; as well as memory, in which commands are stored that, when implemented by the processor, make the processor perform a routine operation of pre-conditioning and a routine operation of photo processing. A method contains following stages: a) creating thermal gradient in surrounding medium using the cooling device and the light source; as well as b) selective heating target chromophore, using the light source, performed after the stage a), to a value sufficient to exceed a threshold of target damage at the required depth, but not exceeding a threshold of surrounding medium damage at the required depth.
EFFECT: use of this group of inventions allows for inducing thermal damage in different chromophores below a pain threshold and a threshold of undesired damage to a subject.
