METHOD FOR INTRAOPERATIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE TIGHTNESS OF THE SMALL BOWEL ANASTOMOSIS Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61B17/11 A61B5/00 A61B17/00 A61B17/12 A61M25/10 A61K33/14 A61K6/65 A61P43/00

Abstract RU 2785493 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to abdominal surgery. In the gap between the first and last stitches of the suture along the anastomosis line, the distal end of a two-port Foley catheter is inserted, connected through a node for additional injections of the system for intravenous administration of solutions to a vial with sterile tinted saline, movably fixed on a stand for intravenous injections. The catheter balloon is inflated, the catheter is tied with the ends of the thread and the threads are fixed. The section of the intestine proximal and distal to the suture line is clamped. The zero mark at the lower end of the vertical ruler, movably fixed on a tripod, is aligned with the level of the upper part of the intestinal suture. By supplying a solution from a vial, a pressure of 750 mm of water column is created in an isolated section of the intestine. If a leak is detected in the anastomosis area, the defect is sutured.

EFFECT: method allows for intraoperative assessment of the tightness of the small bowel anastomosis at the maximum pressure that can be in vivo in the lumen of the small intestine; does not require the formation of additional holes in the intestine, which reduces trauma; does not depend on the degree of stretching of the intestinal wall, on the capacity of the intestine, which makes it objective; does not require additional devices for measuring pressure, is available in any medical institution.
