FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of biotechnology, and it is a method for extermination of locusts on the ground surface and during a flight period, which is performed by impact on locusts, and which consists in “shooting” locust masses with toroidal vortices. As striking elements, pressure drop in passage of a vortex through a locust concentration, sufficient for striking, is used. A device for implementation of the method for extermination of locusts includes cross-country vehicle 1 with platform 3 and vortex cannon 2, while vortex cannon 2 is fixed on platform 3, wherein fixation makes it possible to partially change its direction. The method for extermination of locusts and the device for its implementation work in the following way: cross-country vehicle 1 with platform 3 arrives to a place of a high locust concentration, then, vortex cannon 2 fixed on platform 3 is directed to the locust concentration, the vortex cannon is turned on for a time sufficient for striking locusts. In this case, the vortex cannon can change a direction for increasing the striking efficiency. At the same time, the vehicle with the operating vortex cannon can move along the terrain, where locusts live, treating the surface until complete extermination.

EFFECT: proposed invention increases the mobility of technical means for extermination of locusts, gives a possibility of “spot” extermination of their nesting sites, reduces costs, and is the most environmentally friendly among all known methods for control of this pest.
