FIELD: images capturing and processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to systems for capturing and processing images. The effect is achieved in that the imaging system comprises an optical system, an image sensor and an image processing unit, wherein the optical system is configured to form an intermediate image. The image processing unit is configured to restore the intermediate image to obtain an output image with a desired quality level. To restore the intermediate image, optimized parameters are introduced into the image processing unit, obtained on the basis of minimizing the difference in pairs of images formed by two or more models of the optical system with different levels of abstraction. Abstraction levels differ in the number and type of parameters used in describing the passage of light through an optical system. The imaging method is implemented by the imaging system. A method for designing the parameters of an imaging system based on optimizing the parameters by said reduction of differences in image pairs is also provided.

EFFECT: improving the quality of the image restored or processed based on the optimized parameters of the optical system.
