SUBSTANCE: method and system for the production of nitric acid with high efficiency of use of energy and materials are proposed, where the method and the system for the production of nitric acid are integrated with a method and a system for the production of ammonia and are made with the possibility of a high degree of energy regeneration from ammonia in the form of electricity to maintain a high degree of extraction of nitric acid during conversion of ammonia into nitric acid. The method for energy regeneration and electricity generation includes compression of liquid air, oxygen, and/or nitrogen, subsequent evaporation, and heating of compressed liquid gas, using low-grade heat generated in the production of nitric acid and/or ammonia, and subsequent expansion of evaporated compressed liquefied gas in a turbine. Generated electricity is partially used for energy supply of electrolyzer to produce hydrogen needed for ammonia production.

EFFECT: invention is especially suitable in the production of nitric acid for use on the basis of renewable energy sources.
