The substance of the invention lies in the fact that a sample is used in the form of a rod with temperature sensors installed on its body and a system for excitation and registration of rod or torsional waves located at its end, and placed in a heating chamber and sounded by an acoustic echo method, while using a sample with a length many times greater than its diameter, the entire volume of the sample material is sounded from the end on multiple reflections by the acoustic echo method with a rod or torsional wave, while the wavelength significantly exceeds the diameter of the sample.

EFFECT: invention provides the ability to determine the temperature coefficient of the speed of ultrasound with high accuracy.
