SUBSTANCE: using to identify and assess the parameters of defects such as discontinuity and heterogeneity of the metal rods. Summary of invention is in carrying outsounding of a controlled rod by a rod wave, measuring the time of propagation of the rod wave from the transducer to the defect and vice versa, recalculation of the measured time into the coordinate of the defect along the bar length, taking into account the speed of propagation of the rod wave, determination of the rod wave reflection coefficient from the defect, determination of the bar defectiveness by the results of comparison of the reflection coefficient from the defect with the level of rejection, along with carrying out additional sounding of the standard bar sample with rod and torsion waves, determination of rod and torsion wave reflection coefficients from an artificial reflector in a standard bar sample, measuring the coordinate of an artificial reflector in a cross section of a bar standard sample, sounding a controlled bar with a torsional wave, determination of the reflection coefficient of a torsional wave from a defect in a controlled rod, determination of attenuation coefficients of the rod and torsional waves in a controlled rod, determination of the coordinate of the defect in the cross section of the rod. Defectiveness of the rod is additionally determined by comparing the reflection coefficients of the torsional wave from the defect with the level of rejection.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the control and increasing the reliability of the results of the acoustic waveguide control.
