The circumferential speed of the rolls of the next horizontal stand is set. During joint rolling of the strip by rolls of the previous horizontal stand, vertical stand and subsequent horizontal stand, the static currents of the electric drives of the previous horizontal stand and vertical stand are measured, the transition is made from the regulation of the circumferential speed of the rolls of the previous horizontal stand to the regulation of the static current of the electric drive of these rolls, the static current of the electric drive of the previous horizontal stand is stabilized by applying a corrective signal to it. The transition from the regulation of the circumferential speed of the vertical stand rolls to the regulation of the static current of the electric drive of these rolls is carried out, the static current of the electric drive of the vertical stand is stabilized by applying a corrective signal to it.
