FIELD: measuring; controlling.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for diagnostic monitoring of the elastic moment of the spindle of a thick-sheet rolling mill. In the process of strip rolling, the speed and moment of the working roll motor are measured, the measured values of the moment and the speed of the working roll motor are respectively transmitted to the first and second inputs of the digital observer of the spindle elastic moment, elastic moment of spindle is calculated and calculated value of elastic moment of spindle is recorded in data collection system of rolling mill. In said digital observer, calculating the difference between the measured value of the motor of the working roll and the calculated value of the elastic moment of the spindle, integrating the difference of said moments, working roll motor speed is calculated, difference between measured and calculated values of working roll motor speed is calculated, specified difference in the working roll motor speeds is fed to the input of the observer's proportional-integral controller.

EFFECT: continuous monitoring of rolling mill spindle dynamic loads, registration of fatigue damages, prediction of residual life of equipment.
