SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for producing a porous composite material, including the preparation of modified starch by graft polymerization of acrylamide onto starch and precipitation from a solution with alcohol or acetone, dissolving chitosan in an aqueous acid solution, combining a solution of chitosan with modified starch, adding a crosslinking agent and blowing agent, drying, characterized in that after complete dissolution of the modified starch in an aqueous acidic solution of chitosan and obtaining a homogeneous system, a crosslinking agent is added, which is used as urotropin or formaldehyde, then after increasing the viscosity of the system in the range from 2800 to 3500 mPa, a foaming agent is added, the foaming process is carried out and dried to constant weight.

EFFECT: present invention provides an increase in the porosity, sorption capacity and strength of the porous composite material by changing the crosslinking agent and the method for its introduction.
