SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in reciprocating internal combustion engines. A two-stroke reciprocating internal combustion engine contains a block of cylinders equipped with purge and exhaust ports (12) and (11), and pistons (7) and (8) moving in cylinders (16) in opposite directions. The pistons (7) and (8) each control the purge and exhaust, respectively. There is a mechanism with two degrees of freedom for converting the reciprocating movement of the pistons (7) and (8) into the rotational movement of the crank (1) by means of pivotally connected through the rod (5), (6) with each of the pistons (7) and (8) two rocker arms (3) and (4) swinging on two-movable hinges (9) and (10). The rocker arms (3) and (4) are connected by a traverse (17), the middle point of which is connected through a trunnion to the drive crank (2) of the connecting rodless mechanism. In the crankless mechanism, the driving and support cranks (2) and (1) are synchronized by a pair of external and internal gears with an elliptical tooth profile.
EFFECT: increasing fuel efficiency and improving the specific weight and size indicators.
