FIELD: medicine; surgery; herniology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgery and herniology; it can be used for the prevention of infectious complications in prosthetic hernioplasty of postoperative ventral hernias. Before hernioplasty, polypropylene endoprosthetic mesh is soaked for 5-10 min in a solution containing 1.5 ml of 2.5% argovite solution, 15 ml of 20% albumin, and 5 ml of bidistilled water. After fixation of polypropylene mesh, the wound is repeatedly treated with the argovite solution for 1-2 minutes.
EFFECT: method provides effective prevention and reduction in the risk of occurrence of purulent-inflammatory complications after implantation of endoprosthesis due to prolongation of an antibacterial effect of colloidal silver.
