FIELD: motor fuels flammability assessing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for assessing the flammability of motor fuels. A method for assessing the flammability of motor fuels for internal combustion engines is proposed, characterized by the fact that, under identical conditions, the engine is operated without fuel injection into the combustion chamber with the construction of an extended indicator diagram of the fuel, which is combined with the expanded indicator diagram of the engine operation with fuel injection, and the point of divergence of the diagrams is fixed. pressure of cylinder gases after the end of the ignition delay period and the point of maximum pressure of the cycle, which is connected by a line perpendicular to the coordinate axis of the angle of rotation of the crankshaft, after which the area limited by the indicator diagrams with and without fuel injection and the ignition points, the maximum pressure of the cycle and the point of intersection of a line perpendicular to the coordinate axis of the crankshaft angle with the indicator diagram without fuel injection, which is compared with the area of the indicator diagram taken on another sample of fuel in the same typical engine operating conditions, and the difference between these areas makes a conclusion about the flammability of the tested motor fuels.
EFFECT: reducing the complexity of assessing the flammability of motor fuels in terms of the rigidity of the combustion process of internal combustion engines using the removed expanded indicator diagram without reducing the requirements for reliability and accuracy.
