FIELD: rail head tread surface parameters determination.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended to determine the parameters of the tread surface of the rail head and the depth of longitudinal cracks. The substance of the invention lies in the fact that a pair of electroacoustic transducers are installed on the tread surface and the head surfaces of the rail head in the form of lines of electroacoustic transducers co-directed to each other, the lines are located across the longitudinal axis of the rail, the number of piezoelectric plates in the lines is selected from the condition of the required resolution, the rail head is probed , for which ultrasonic signals are emitted from the head surfaces and received on the tread surface, the propagation time of ultrasonic pulses is measured and the height of the rail head along the probing lines is calculated, in the presence of a longitudinally oriented crack, echo signals from the crack are received and the depth of the defect is calculated from the propagation time, moreover the input and reception of ultrasonic vibrations is carried out through flexible protectors that adapt to the surfaces of the rail head, measurements are made with stationary electroacoustic transducers simultaneously in several planes. the rail head probing axials, when calculating the contours of the rail tread surface and the longitudinal crack, the delay time of ultrasonic signals in the elements of the rulers and in the protectors is taken into account.
EFFECT: increase in productivity, measurement accuracy in the control of the rail head, as well as expansion of the scope.
