FIELD: car industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the car industry, in particular to methods for increasing active safety of vehicles; it can be used in an onboard system of automatic emergency braking. According to a method for prevention of collision with an oncoming obstacle in the form of a vehicle on a lane, a longitudinal speed of the mass center, an angle of rotation of controlled wheels, and a distance to the obstacle in a front hemisphere are measured in a known way. Then, a predictable lane of the controlled vehicle and a position of the obstacle on it are determined in a control and information processing unit, a speed of the oncoming vehicle is determined by a derivative of a convergence distance and the own speed, and a value of deceleration sufficient for full stop without collision of each of two oncoming vehicles is calculated. In case of exceeding a threshold deceleration level, light and sound signals for warning the oncoming vehicle about a pre-accident situation are formed, and control impacts on the braking system are formed until full stop of the controlled vehicle.

EFFECT: prevention of collisions with oncoming vehicles on a lane of a controlled vehicle.
