SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ethylene polymerization catalyst component, a catalyst for ethylene polymerization using the component, a catalyst preparation method. The ethylene polymerization catalyst component, namely, {2-[1-(2-R1-6-R2-4-diphenylmethylphenylimino)ethyl]-8-(2-R1-6-R2-4 diphenylmethylphenylimino)-5,6,7,8-tetra-hydroquinoline}cobalt(II) dichloride has the structure shown in general formula 1. The substituent R1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl C1...C40, where alkyl is a single valence substituent with the following formula: CnH2n+1 (1 ≤ n ≤ 40); cycloalkyl C3...C12, where cycloalkyl is a single valence substituent with the following formula: CnH2n-1 (3 ≤ n ≤ 12), cyclopropyl, cyclobutyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, cycloheptyl, cyclooctyl, cyclonononyl, cyclodeucyl, cycloundecyl and cyclododecyl; halogen atom where halogen is a fluorine, chlorine and bromine. The substituent R2 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl C1...C40, where alkyl is a monovalent substituent with the following formula: CnH2n+1 (1 ≤ n ≤ 40), - and an alkylaromatic substituent with the following formula: CH3-x(Ar)x (1 ≤ x ≤ 3), where Ar is a monovalent benzene radical with the following formula: C6H5 (n, x are integers).

EFFECT: invention obtains a catalyst component that was not described previously and ethylene polymerization catalyst containing the component, which temperature maximum efficiency is within the range of 50...60°C and use it for obtaining linear polyethylene containing terminal vinyl groups with MW of 0.9...92 kg/mol, MWD of 1.7...19.8 and melting point of 119...135°C.
