FIELD: polymerization.
SUBSTANCE: component of an ethylene polymerization catalyst, namely {2-[1-(2,4-bis-(diphenylmethyl)-6-cycloalkylphenylimino)ethyl]-6-[1-(2,4,6-trimethylphenylimino)- ethyl]-pyridine}iron(II) dichloride having the structure represented by the general formula 1, in which the cycloalkyl substituent is selected from the group consisting of cyclopropyl, cyclobutyl, cyclopentyl, cyclohexyl, cycloheptyl, cyclooctyl, cyclononyl, cyclodecyl, cycloundecyl and cyclododecyl, i.e. integer n = 1…10. Also proposed is a catalyst for the polymerization of ethylene, including a compound of general formula 1, a method for preparing the catalyst and its use for the polymerization of ethylene.
EFFECT: production of a catalyst component and an ethylene polymerization catalyst containing this component, the temperature maximum of which is in the range of 60-70°C, which makes it possible to obtain highly linear polyethylene without terminal vinyl groups with an MW of 7.5-306 kg/mol, MWD of 2.0-16, melting point of 128-136°C.
