FIELD: nanoscale oxides production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for producing nanoscale oxides of rare earth elements (REE), which have luminescent, catalytic, optical, electrical and magnetic properties. A method for obtaining simple nanosized oxides of rare earth elements (REE) includes dissolving a mixture of REE nitrate (NO3)3⋅6H2O and fuel in distilled water, followed by removal of water, heating the resulting product in an air atmosphere and self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, while dimethylformamide is used as fuel (DMF), and the resulting product in the form of REE(DMF)3(NO3)3 crystals is heated to a temperature of 700-800°C at a rate of 10°C/min.
EFFECT: thermal decomposition of REE(DMF)3(NO3)3 results in nanoparticles with an average size of 30–40 nm and an average degree of agglomeration.
