FIELD: hydroacoustic coatings.
SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for flaw detection of hydroacoustic coating. The substance of the invention lies in the fact that the emitter and receiver of sound signals are combined in one device, rigidly fixed and installed on an underwater remote-controlled carrier, which moves along the surface of an underwater object along a given trajectory, during the movement, sound signals are emitted, sound signals reflected from underwater object with a hydroacoustic coating, and determining the reflection coefficient from the hydroacoustic coating, at the same time, in the conditions of the hydroacoustic pool, the reflection coefficients from samples of the hydroacoustic coating with and without a defect are measured, taking into account the section of the hull on which it is applied, by changing the frequency, the ratio of the reflection coefficients of the samples is achieved with and without a defect of the hydroacoustic coating by more than 2 times and fix the selected frequency, then measure the reflection coefficient of the hydroacoustic coating on an underwater object using underwater remote control of the carrier and compared with the result obtained in the hydroacoustic basin, with an increase in the reflection coefficient from the hydroacoustic coating without a defect by more than 2 times, it is considered that the hydroacoustic coating is defective.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of examining the outer surface of various hull structures lined with hydroacoustic coating (HAC) in order to detect defects, which are liquid flowing into the air channels of the hydroacoustic coating, and this type of defect is the most common for HAC.
