FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a heating apparatus for heating metal items, capable of heating, by electromagnetic induction, at least one metal item (11) located in the heating chamber (12) and moved along the direction of supply (X1), wherein said heating apparatus comprises one or more heating coils (13) arranged circumferentially around said heating chamber (12) and the metal item subject to heating (11), wherein said one or more heating coils (13) are located substantially transversely to the direction of supply (X1) of the metal item (11) and are capable of creating a magnetic field with a direction (M1) that is substantially parallel to or matching the direction of supply (X1) of the item subject to heating and oriented in the same direction as said direction of supply (X1) of the item subject to heating. The heating apparatus also comprises at least one heat shield (14) located between said one or more heating coils (13) and the metal item subject to heating (11), wherein said heat shield (14) is formed by at least two independent walls (15) equipped with blocks (16) made of heat- and electricity-insulating material and located around the metal item subject to heating (11), and also comprises cooling pipes (17) located in said walls (15) and configured to allow at least one cooling fluid to flow.
EFFECT: creation of a heating apparatus capable of withstanding high temperatures and heat expansion phenomena, thereby providing effective heat protection both for the heating apparatus and for the induction coils, allowing for a significant reduction in the temperature of the elements located behind the heating chamber, i.e. heating coils, load-bearing or other elements, reduction in the emission heat losses, thereby increasing the overall effectiveness of induction heating, in particular, due to the high heat resistance thereof, and having high efficiency, versatility, and adaptability to various heating requirements.
