SUBSTANCE: invention relates to experimental physics, namely to gas mixtures of wire gas-discharge chambers - charged particle detectors. Wire gas-discharge chambers - detectors of charged particles are used practically in all experimental installations of modern nuclear physics, high-energy physics and medical physics. According to the invention, the working gas mixture contains: argon - 40 vol. %, carbon dioxide - 58 vol. %, allotrope tetrafluoropropane CF3CH = CHF (freon C3H2F4) - 2 vol. %. Distinctive feature is that the freon component used is environmentally safe Freon of formula C3H2F4, which is also capable of providing radiation resistance and operating characteristics of detectors.

EFFECT: technical effect of the invention: providing environmental safety of gas emissions to the atmosphere when performance characteristics of detectors operating on a gas mixture - prototype.
