FIELD: ferrous metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: methods for smelting cast iron from iron ore sludge in electric arc furnaces. In electric arc furnace preheated to 200°С, the first portion of the charge is loaded in the form of iron-ore sludge from the hot iron briquetting and coke screening with a non-volatile carbon content of 79.1 wt.%, ash 17.9 wt.% and a moisture content not exceeding 9.4 wt.%, total weight of 11500 g with its further melting, following layer-by-layer loading with subsequent melting of the second portion of the charge with a total weight of 11500 g, the third portion of the charge with a total weight of 11500 g and the fourth portion of the charge with a total weight of 20630 g with a loading time interval of 2400 s, while at the end of melting, release of molten metal with a temperature of 1339°C, sludge and exhaust gases, and the molten metal is released containing wt.%, 94.8 iron, 2.62 carbon, 2.15 silicon and 0.43 other elements.
EFFECT: simplification of production due to the absence of the introduction of fluxing additives in the producing of cast iron.
