FIELD: cathode copper production from recyclables.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for processing recyclables containing copper, namely, to obtain cathode copper from waste of the electronic and electrical industries, such as copper parts and tin-plated copper wires. The method includes the treatment of pre-crushed copper-containing and tin-coated raw materials with acid during heating, followed by separation of the resulting tin compound from it, and electrochemical treatment to obtain cathode copper. At the same time, copper-containing raw materials are processed in the form of granules and copper sulphate electrolyte containing 20-50 g/l of copper in a 10-20% sulfuric acid solution is used. The process is carried out at 65-75°C and tin sulfate is obtained as a tin compound in an electrolyte solution, and the separated copper is used as a bulk anode for the electrochemical production of cathode copper in a copper sulfate electrolyte of the same composition.
EFFECT: simplification of technology, reduction in the amount of acidic liquid waste and increase in environmental friendliness.
