FIELD: inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: device for obtaining silicon carbide powder contains a rectangular case open from above, at the bottom of which there is a horizontal plate, on which a dielectric gasket is fixed, on which a graphite cylindrical cathode in the form of a vertically located glass is placed in a cylindrical holder. The height of the cathode is greater than its diameter by at least 2 times. A vertical post is fixed on a horizontal plate, on which the pad is put through a through hole at its end. To the other end of the pad, the end of the rail is pivotally attached, the other end of which is pivotally connected to the middle part of the handle, the end of which is pivotally attached to the upper part of the rack above the pad. A dielectric bar is mounted in the free end of the pad, in which three through slots are made, into each of which the end of a current-carrying sleeve is inserted, in which the anode is fixed in the form of a solid graphite rod with a diameter of 8 mm. Each sleeve is connected to the positive output of the corresponding DC source located at the bottom of the case. The negative outputs of all DC sources are connected to the holder. All DC sources are connected to the neutral of a three-phase five-wire network. Wherein the first DC source is connected to phase A, the second DC source is connected to phase B, and the third DC source is connected to phase C of the three-phase five-wire network. The body of the device and the handle are grounded.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase the weight of the obtained silicon carbide powder and to reduce the content of impurities.
