SUBSTANCE: remote portion of the high frequency processing device includes a knife of the high frequency processing device having a pair of jaws for cutting biological tissue. A pair of jaws is configured to cut biological tissue. Each of the cutting jaws, axially supported by a common rotary axis and capable of opening and closing, has a blade section for cutting biological tissue. Each surface of each pair of jaws includes a non-conductive layer formation region and an electrode region. For at least one of the pair of jaws, the width of the electrode region in the thickness direction of the jaw plate varies depending on the position of the jaws in the longitudinal direction.
EFFECT: invention achieves higher haemostatic capacity for biological tissue, a more reliable grip on biological tissue, and resistance to collision between a pair of opening and closing sections of the remote processing tool of the high-frequency processing device and the remote end of the endoscope.
