FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical engineering, in particular to instruments which transmit RF energy into tissue. Electrosurgical apparatus comprising a housing, a terminal clamp comprising a first jaw of first electrode and second jaw of second electrode. First jaw is movable to second jaw for clamping tissue therebetween, said first and second electrodes are made to conduct RF energy to tissue clamped between jaws, flexible cutting element to cut tissue clamped between first and second jaws, and barrel extending between housing and end clamp where stem defines a longitudinal axis. Barrel includes a joint portion configured to selectively limit position in clamping position non-parallel to longitudinal axis of barrel. Hinge portion includes a flexible member of moulded plastic having a longitudinal recess with a portion of cutting element located in a longitudinal recess for longitudinal movement therein.
EFFECT: use of invention widens range of electrosurgical instruments.
