FIELD: polymer composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymer composite materials intended for the manufacture of sealing, leak-proofing and insulating products for tribological purposes, which can be used for the manufacture of anti-friction coatings, bearings and other elements of friction units operated under conditions of increased loads and high sliding speeds in contact with hydrocarbon environment. A polymer composite material for structural and tribological purposes is proposed, which contains by weight 98% polytetrafluoroethylene and 2% silicon dioxide, pre-treated by exposure to a 10-4 mol/l solution of aluminium chloride.
EFFECT: increase in the wear resistance of a composite material based on polytetrafluoroethylene and modified silicon dioxide while maintaining the deformation and strength characteristics, which is achieved by increasing the chemical affinity of the filler to the polymer matrix without the use of high temperatures and environmental pollutants.
