FIELD: inorganic chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the manufacture of ceramics, refractories, electrochemical sensors, fuel cells and pseudo-capacitors. Nitrates of zirconyl and praseodymium taken in an equimolar ratio for the corresponding oxides are used as compounds of zirconyl and praseodymium. Urea is used as a complexing agent and sol stabilizer. Zirconyl and praseodymium nitrates as well as urea are dissolved in water. The solution is thoroughly mixed until the indicated salts are completely dissolved and evaporated to form a viscous gel-like product, which is then pyrolyzed in a muffle furnace at a temperature of 560°C in an inert or oxidizing air atmosphere. The resulting product is praseodymium zirconate of the formula Pr2Zr2O7 that is completely single-phase and contains both mesopores and micropores.
EFFECT: obtaining a method that is simple and reproducible in laboratory and industrial conditions.
