FIELD: hydrogen production.
SUBSTANCE: provision with hydrogen fuel and hydrogen peroxide to power plants with heat engines or fuel cell electrochemical generators, production of hydrogen for industrial use. In the method for producing hydrogen by decomposing water molecules by monochromatic radiation, water is used in the phase state of ice. The surface of the ice block is irradiated with a frequency of at least 1 Hz with monochromatic ultraviolet radiation. The hydrogen bonds of ice molecules are broken by irradiation at a radiation wavelength of 166.5 nm. In this case, the ice surface is irradiated with a power density of at least 11.7 J/cm2. Gaseous hydrogen released as a result of breaking the hydrogen bonds of ice molecules and the liquid phase of hydrogen peroxide are collected separately from the ice surface.
EFFECT: simplification of the hydrogen production, reduction of power consumption for its production, and increasing of its yield.
