FIELD: light detection and ranging systems (lidars); multispectral lidar methods and systems.
SUBSTANCE: optical system and a method for controlling this system, as well as a self-driving vehicle connected to it, are described. The optical system comprises a housing, a first light source located in the housing and capable of emitting light in the first wavelength range, and a second light source located in the housing and capable of emitting light in a second wavelength range different from the first wavelength range, a dichroic element, capable of combining light from the first light source and the second light source into an output light beam for scanning the field of view, a scanning unit capable of directing the output beam outside the optical system and located in the housing, a controller connected to the scanning element, and at least one sensor, connected to the controller, located in the housing and capable of receiving the light reflected from surrounding objects into the optical system.
EFFECT: providing the possibility of more efficient merging of three-dimensional maps and reducing the environmental impact on the optical system.
