SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a process for obtaining a mesenchymal stromal cell. To implement this process, stromal Wharton's jelly or part thereof is first isolated from the umbilical cord. Next, enzymatic treatment of stromal Wharton's jelly or part thereof is carried out with collagenase enzyme in the presence of platelet lysate (PL), thereby releasing at least one cell from stromal Wharton's jelly or part thereof. After that, at least one cell is propagated in a growth medium containing PL.

EFFECT: improved yield of mesenchymal stem cells.
