MICROWAVE APPLICATOR FOR CERVIX Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B18/18

Abstract RU 2793811 C2

FIELD: medical equipment.

SUBSTANCE: devices and a method of using a microwave antenna device, which comprises an electrically conductive grounding element forming a hole, an electrically conductive elongated element passing through the hole and ending at the distal end, and one or more dielectric elements. One or more dielectric elements electrically isolate the elongated element and the grounding element from each other. The microwave antenna device may be configured, upon application, to radiate microwave energy into the surface tissue of the cervix so as to provide a therapeutic effect in one or more areas of the cervix, such as one or more areas of the cervix infected with human papillomavirus (HPV), and/or where the cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) is diagnosed, or in order to create the correct biological response in one or more such areas. The microwave antenna device may be configured with a possibility of localized non-ablative hyperthermia of the surface tissue of the cervix, localized ablation of the surface tissue, and/or cauterization of the surface tissue of the cervix.

EFFECT: possibility of localized non-ablative hyperthermia of the surface tissue of the cervix, localized ablation of the surface tissue, and/or cauterization of the surface tissue of the cervix.
