FIELD: medical equipment.
SUBSTANCE: electrosurgical instrument contains a proximal part containing a coaxial transmission line for the transmission of microwave electromagnetic (hereinafter – EM) energy. The coaxial transmission line contains an inner conductor separated from a proximal outer conductor with the first dielectric material. A distal part of the instrument is a radiating one. An intermediate impedance transformer is made with the possibility of coordination of impedance of the coaxial transmission line with impedance of the distal radiating part. The inner conductor passes behind the distal end of the proximal outer conductor through the intermediate impedance transformer and through the distal radiating part, forming a conductive part of a microwave antenna for radiation of microwave EM energy transmitted via the coaxial transmission line. The microwave antenna contains distal dielectric material placed above the conductive part of the microwave antenna. The distal radiating part defines the outer surface of the electrosurgical instrument and has the maximal outer diameter less than the outer diameter of the coaxial transmission line, while distal dielectric material has the maximal outer diameter less than the outer diameter of the first dielectric material. An electrosurgical device is disclosed.
EFFECT: providing the application for treatment of hard-to-reach places.
