SUBSTANCE: aerosol generating device has a holder configured to generate aerosols and a support configured to be detachably connected to the holder and containing a first communication circuit configured to form a data transmission channel with the holder. The support includes a display, a sensor and a first control circuit configured to display data received from the sensor and the indicator on the display to activate the user interface, to output through the user interface a plurality of pre-stored temperature profiles in response to the first user input of the indicator selection and in response to the second user input to select any of a plurality of pre-stored temperature profiles for transmitting the selected temperature profile to the holder via a data communication channel, wherein the holder comprises a second communication circuit configured to form a data communication channel with a support, and a second control circuit configured to control the temperature profile, used to heat the aerosol generating material, based on the selected temperature profile.
