FIELD: drilling.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for electroerosive drilling of a hole (18) in a part (16) made of an electrically conductive material, in particular for an aircraft gas turbine engine. The method uses an electroerosion machine containing a head (12) that is movable relative to the part and on which a consumable electroerosive electrode (10) is installed, which has an elongated shape, and which is progressively moved along its longitudinal axis. The method includes the following steps, in which a) the electrode is moved towards the part to drill a hole in the part, b) the electrode is retracted and the electroerosive electrode is removed from the hole, c) the head is moved laterally, a distance less than 100% of the hole diameter, d) the electroerosive electrode is moved towards the part to probe the part, and e) the actual depth of the hole drilled in step a) is calculated.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine the actual depth of the drilled hole and, consequently, on this basis to conclude whether the hole is through or not, using an electroerosive machine and its electrode.
