SUBSTANCE: image encoding and decoding devices are proposed that perform: determining the prediction mode of the current block based on the prediction mode information of the current unit received from the bit stream, obtaining a block of transform coefficients of the current block from the bit stream, dequantizing the transform coefficient to form a block of dequantized transform coefficients, determining transform kernels for the block of dequantized transform coefficients; and generating a residual block for the current block by an inverse transformation on the block of dequantized transform coefficients using the transform kernel, with the prediction mode of the current block being the intra-block copy (IBC) mode.
