SUBSTANCE: catalysts for the processing of hydrocarbon raw materials, and in particular production processes for the preparation and(or) modification of catalyst carriers. A method is described for impregnating a hydrotreating catalyst carrier with an impregnating solution containing molybdenum and cobalt oxides, which is carried out in a capacitive impregnator, in which the excess impregnating solution is collected after impregnation, filtered from mechanical impurities, checked for the content of metal oxides, and sent as a recirculating stream to the next impregnation cycle of a new portion of the carrier, where it is mixed with a fresh impregnating solution in a ratio of up to 1:4 or exactly 1:4, while the supply of both fresh impregnating solution and a mixture of fresh and recirculating impregnating solutions to the impregnator occurs in portions with temperature control in the impregnator.

EFFECT: reduced consumption of the impregnating solution during preparation of the catalyst carrier.
