FIELD: hydroacoustic navigation.

SUBSTANCE: aimed at solving the problem of unambiguously determining the moment of arrival of a useful signal from a hydroacoustic beacon to the receiver of an underwater object located near the axis of the underwater sound channel (USC). Positioning is carried out by means of a synchronized long-range hydroacoustic navigation system, which involves the use of several hydroacoustic beacons, the unique properties of the USC, information about the sound speed at a measured distance, as well as determining the delay in the arrival of a useful signal to an underwater object, which is detected as a result of correlation analysis at least two received signals that make up a special frame, and the allocation of a correlation function in it with a single maximum of the highest energy.

EFFECT: reducing the error in determining the distance between the beacon and the receiver and the error in positioning the underwater object.
