ATLAS CORRECTION METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61H1/00 A61H23/02

Abstract RU 2794817 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: vibration-point massage and reflexotherapy. Method for correcting rotatory subluxation of the atlas includes complex diagnostics and subsequent elimination of spasm of the muscles of the atlanto-occipital zone by means of vibration-point massage, which is performed symmetrically on paired suboccipital muscles in the following sequence: posterior rectus minor, posterior major, inferior oblique muscle of the head, superior oblique head muscle, on one side and in the same manner on the other side, using a massage device with a pressure exposure of 3 to 5 seconds. Device for correction of rotatory subluxation of the atlas consists of a cylindrical metal body, an electric motor with a planetary gear, a pusher, a control unit and a power supply unit, a carriage on which a massage finger is fixed. The nozzle of the massage finger is equipped with an operating rounded end with a radius of 3 to 7.5 millimeters. The stem of the massage finger and two side guides block the rotation of the massage finger around its axis. The pusher has a wavy surface with symmetrical tops and troughs in the axial section. The weight of the device is from 1200 to 1500 grams.

EFFECT: detection of violations of biomechanics in the craniovertebral region, improvement of blood supply to the upper part of the spinal cord, cerebellum and posterior part of the brain, improvement of blood flow through the vertebral arteries, achievement of correct paired symmetrical control of the suboccipital muscles, normalization of mobility in the atlanto-occipital and atlanto-axial joints and elimination of hyperaffermation of proprioceptive sensitivity, which contributes to the formation of new motor programs without a limiting factor in the form of long-term spasmodic suboccipital muscles.
