METHOD FOR MONITORING THE AIR EXHALED BY A PATIENT TO PREDICT DECOMPENSATION OF DIABETES MELLITUS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/83 A61B5/1477 G01N21/3504 G01N21/39 G01N33/497

Abstract RU 2794820 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for monitoring volatile organic compounds in the air exhaled by a patient to predict the development or aggravation of the degree of decompensation of diabetes mellitus from an early age. In this case, the spectra of diagnostically significant substances are determined in diagnostically significant concentrations in the exhaled air by a neural network. The exhaled air spectrum sample is evaluated by an instrument complex based on infrared laser spectroscopy. The instrumental complex contains a sample supply and sample preparation module connected to a radiation analysis module, which, in turn, is connected to a computer module with a neural network. The sample supply and sample preparation module contains a bag for collecting exhaled air samples with the ability to connect it to an exhaled air samples dryer. Through the outlet valve of the dryer, the exhaled air sample is fed into the Arriot multi-pass gas cuvette, which, together with a quantum-cascade laser and a photodetector, is a part of the radiation analysis module.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of predicting the development or severity of the degree of decompensation of diabetes mellitus from an early age is achieved by increasing the objectivity and information content of the parameters of disorders for diagnostically significant substances in diagnostically significant concentrations in the exhaled air.
