FIELD: technology of composite metal materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to produce lightweight products operated under static and dynamic loading, as well as under conditions of significant vibrations. For the manufacture of an aluminum-steel composite material, a multilayer workpiece is formed by alternating layers of aluminum powder with lamellar particles and layers of steel mesh woven from a cable, the resulting multilayer workpiece is compacted by pressing under a pressure of 150–200 MPa and heat treated in air at a temperature of 250–300°C for 90–120 min. Then it is placed in a graphite mold and heated in vacuum to a temperature of 610-650°C at a speed of 300–350°C/h, after which a pressure of 30–50 MPa is applied with a holding time of 30–60 s, and cooling is carried out under the applied pressure at a rate of 100–150°C/h up to a temperature of 80–100°C, at which the pressure is removed. Then the product is cooled in the mold at room temperature and removed from the mold. Properties of the resulting material: density 2.90–2.97 g/cm3, bending strength 700–850 MPa.
EFFECT: increased strength of the material as a result of increasing its density while maintaining the perfect structure of the matrix/reinforcing component interface and the formation of a pure oxide type of bond throughout the volume of the composite.
