FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of composite materials - cermets and can be used to obtain wear-resistant and tribological products, high-temperature sealing elements, as well as for the manufacture of abrasive tools. To obtain cermet, aluminum powder consisting of lamellar particles coated with stearin (PAP-2) was treated with water by vigorous stirring to obtain a gel-like product, which was dried in air at 20–60°C and pressed. The obtained powder blanks were sintered in vacuum by heating to 630–640°C with an isothermal holding for 15–30 minutes, followed by raising the temperature to 645–655°C with an isothermal holding for 45–90 minutes.
EFFECT: increasing the yield of suitable samples during pressing, increasing the strength and crack resistance of the sintered material. Properties of the obtained material: density - 2.60-2.68 g/cm3, bending strength - 550-650 MPa, crack resistance - 17-20 MPa·m1/2.
