FIELD: medicine; dentistry.

SUBSTANCE: visual examination of the oral mucosa and tongue is conducted. Then transoral ultrasound scanning of the patient's oral mucosa is performed. The sensor is placed transorally and ultrasound scanning is performed in direct contact with the examined area of the mucous membrane of the oral cavity and/or tongue, using a gel. First, the focus is identified and localized, and the pathological focus is scanned with a high-frequency linear sensor with a frequency of 22 MHz. At the same time, the scan results are reflected and recorded on the monitor screen of the ultrasound machine and the characteristics of each pathological focus, such as size, nature of the boundaries, depth of the lesion, type and speed of blood flow, elasticity and structure of the tissue, are revealed from the fixed images. Then, a high-frequency linear sensor with a frequency of 22 MHz is scanned outside the pathological focus, moving it along the surface around the focus. At the same time, a new portion of the gel is preliminarily applied to the surface of the contact part of the sensor. The results of the scan are reflected and recorded on the screen of the monitor of the ultrasound machine and similar characteristics are revealed from the fixed images outside the pathological focus, which are then compared and evaluated.

EFFECT: method allows to identify pathological foci of the oral cavity of the tongue and tissues of the oral cavity, differentiate them and obtain objective criteria for the state of the pathological lesion: size, area, nature of the boundaries, depth, volume and speed of blood flow, tissue elasticity.
