FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to oncology. Method for differential diagnosis of recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity and hyperkeratosis or fibrotic changes involves ultrasonic examination of the oral cavity. Presented method differs by the fact that the ultrasonic examination is performed in the B-mode, additionally the contrasting mode is performed using the ultrasound contrast agent (UCA) 2.4 ml. For 3 minutes from the moment of bolus intravenous introduction, UCA accumulation and washing out of the analyzed formation is monitored and recorded. Upon completion of the study, a software chart is used to plot the UCA concentration change in the formation relative to the surrounding tissues over time and analyze the accumulation time of the wash-in. With simultaneous monitoring in two modes with contrasting formation in both phases, UCA accumulation time 14–25 s, recurrent squamous cell carcinoma of the oral cavity is diagnosed. If UCA is not accumulated in both phases, hyperkeratosis or fibrous changes of oral cavity are diagnosed.

EFFECT: providing differential diagnosis between recurrent squamous oral and linguistic tumors and fibrosis, recurrent squamous oral cavity and tongue tumors and hyperkeratosis.
