FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to dentistry and ultrasonic diagnostics. For examining tongue and oral soft tissues, ultrasonic scanning is performed in the patient's oral cavity directly. A probe is placed in the oral cavity that is followed with ultrasonic scanning of a directly contacted examined region of the oral cavity and/or tongue. The intraoperative linear probe of working frequency 7-15 MHz, placed in a sterile rubber rounded cover partially filled with ultrasonic gel is used. The patient is either in a prone position, or in a seated posture, the patient's mouth is opened, the tongue is either in the oral cavity, or pressed downwards to a sublingual region, or pressed upwards to a hard palate, or put out of the oral cavity and pulled out as far as possible either forward and downwards, or forward and upwards. The ultrasonic scanning is polypositional in a V-mode and/or in a colour Doppler imaging mode, and-or a power imaging mode, and/or pulse-wave Doppler ultrasound mode.

EFFECT: method provides higher quality of examining problem regions and diagnosing the diseases of tongue and oral soft tissues.
