NEW CARRIER PARTICLES FOR DRY POWDER COMPOSITIONS FOR INHALATION Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61K47/14 A61K9/16

Abstract RU 2795231 C2

FIELD: pharmaceuticals.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to carrier particles suitable for use in dry powder formulations for inhalation. Spray-frozen carrier particles based on mannitol as a carrier for dry powder formulations for inhalation, the said particles having a mass diameter in the range of 30 to 300 micrometers, the said particles having a shape factor of 0.80 to 1.15; moreover, these particles are obtained by a method including heating mannitol until complete melting; spraying the molten mannitol through the injection nozzle into the spray freezing chamber to form droplets; cooling the droplets so as to cause curing and particle formation; separating the obtained particles; and carrying out a particle conditioning step. Also a method for producing frozen spray particles, a pharmaceutical composition, a method for producing a pharmaceutical composition, an inhaler, and a package are disclosed.

EFFECT: group of inventions provides the ability to contain high amounts of micronized medicinal products while maintaining the effectiveness of the aerosol without the use of fine excipient particles and/or fine additives.
