FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: crop production, growing food plants with a high content of anthocyanins. Arugula seeds are preliminarily germinated for 3 days in Petri dishes with moistened quartz sand with a fraction of 0.2-0.5 mm at a temperature of 25°C and irradiation with green light with a dominant wavelength of 521 nm and a level of photosynthetic photon irradiance of 100 μmol/(m2⋅s) with a photoperiod of 16 hours “day”, 8 hours “night” every day. After that, the germinated seeds are planted in the soil and the arugula plants are grown for 30 days with periodic watering, irradiating them with the same photoperiod simultaneously with blue light with a wavelength of 440 nm and red light with a wavelength of 660 nm at the same level of irradiation at a height of not more than 1 cm from the soil level, equal to 500 µmol/(m2⋅s).
EFFECT: organization of lighting conditions during the vegetation of arugula plants, which contribute to a more active production of anthocyanins in these plants.
