FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: essence of the new method for obtaining artificial seeds based on the callus tissue culture of tuberous nightshade (Solanum tuberosum L.) is the encapsulation of tuberous nightshade callus fragments in calcium alginate capsules containing a biocide. Nutrients maintain the viability of callus fragments in capsules, and the biocide content in the gel matrix protects artificial seeds from contamination. In addition, the presence of growth stimulants in the nutrient medium promotes the development of seedlings, and the presence of an inhibitor of endogenous ethylene (silver nitrate) improves the morphological characteristics of seedlings (internodes lengthen, leaf blades are abundantly formed).
EFFECT: method makes it possible to massively obtain a homogeneous healthy plant material protected from contamination.
