FIELD: mechanical engineering; metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: technical solution is related in particular to thermal and chemical-thermal processing and can be used in the heat treatment of metal parts. The method of heat treatment of a metal part made of steel includes step-by-step heating of the part in a vacuum in a closed chamber, in which the temperature is initially increased to 630-660°C and kept for 3-15 minutes, then the temperature is increased to 890-910°C and kept for 3-15 minutes, then the temperature is increased to 1070-1090°C and kept for 2-10 minutes, then the temperature is increased to 1180-1240°C and the part is exposed for a period of time equal to 15-60 seconds per 1 mm section of the part, then the part is cooled with nitrogen with a volume fraction of at least 99.99% under a pressure of 8-15 bar to 100°C followed by cooling to 50°C under the pressure of 1-3 bar in a closed chamber and tempered three times at temperatures of 550-585°C for 1.5-3.5 hours. The increase of temperature to 1180-1240°C should preferably be carried out by at least 20°С every minute.
EFFECT: increasing the ease of processing metal parts using the method and improving performance of the material of the parts obtained as a result of processing.
