FIELD: registration; detection of ionizing radiation.
SUBSTANCE: ionizing radiation detector contains a scintillator made in form of a rectangular parallelepiped with square bases, on the side of one of the bases of the scintillator, bevels are made to form a regular truncated quadrangular pyramid, the smaller base of which forms the end face of the scintillator with an area at least 4 times smaller than the area of the opposite end of the scintillator, and the photodiodes connected to the ends of the scintillator have a photosensitive surface area corresponding to the area of the ends of the scintillator.
EFFECT: increase in the energy resolution of the detector with an increase in the range of energies recorded by the detector up to 11 MeV.
